Burglary Suspect Looking for Money to Escape Snow
Early yesterday morning, Spokane Valley Deputies arrested 39-year-old Jonah S. Edera after he broke into a business in Spokane Valley. Edera told deputies he was looking for money to buy a bus ticket to somewhere that didn’t have snow.
On January 9, 2017, at approximately 4:25 a.m., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a burglary alarm call at a business located in the 200 block of South Vista Road. The alarm company advised they called into the business and contacted a transient male who admitted to breaking the business’ window.
Several deputies arrived at the location, including Deputy Kullman and his K9 partner Khan. The front glass door of the business was shattered and Edera, identified by an Oregon State ID card, was inside. He was taken into custody without incident.
Without being asked, Edera told Deputy Getchell he used a wooden pallet to break the glass door. He explained he was looking for money to buy a bus ticket to get somewhere that didn’t have all the snow.
Edera was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Burglary 2nd Degree.
