A reminder from TARGET ZERO

New Distracted Driving Law: Effective July 23, 2017

NO hand-held cell phone use while driving.

**  Even when stopped in traffic or at a traffic light.

**  Includes ALL electronic devices even tablet, laptops and video games

**  NO watching videos or using cameras

You CAN use your device if you are:

**  Hands-free and can start use by a single touch or swipe of your finger

**  Parked or out-of-the-flow of traffic

**  Contacting emergency services

FINES:

First Offense-Standard traffic fine of $136

Second Offense- Fine increases to $234

These violations WILL be reported on your driving record and available to insurance providers. 

Dangerously Distracted:

You can receive a $99 ticket for other types of distractions such as grooming, smoking or eating, but ONLY if you are pulled over for another traffic offense.
