Road Construction and Maintenance Update

June 15-19, 2020

SPOKANE COUNTY, June 12, 2020 – As road construction and maintenance projects continue throughout the county, we remind motorists to slow down in work zones.

CONSTRUCTION

Bigelow Gulch Phase 5
Road closed for excavation with local access only. Completed: 08/31/2020.

Progress Rd: from Forker Rd to Forker Rd
Road Closed use alternate Route

Blanchard Creek Road Culvert Replacement
Replace Existing Culvert. Start: 6/15/2020. Completed: 10/31/2020.

This work provides for the improvement of the Blanchard Creek Road. Work includes the removal of the existing culverts and the construction of a new structure over Blanchard Creek

Geiger Boulevard-Hayford Road to Soda Road
Improvement of Geiger Blvd. includes roadway excavation, curb, drywells, signing, and signals. Completed: 06/30/2020.

Hayford Rd: from 53rd Av to Geiger Bv
Road is open during shoulder work. Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes).
Geiger Bv: from Hayford Rd to Thomas Mallen Rd
Road is closed east of Amazon. Thomas Mallen Closed. Detour using Hayford, 53rd, Electric. Amazon access via Geiger from Hayford.
Geiger Bv: from Thomas Mallen Rd to Soda Rd
Road is closed to through traffic. Detour using Hayford, 53rd and Electric. Amazon access via Thomas Mallen & Geiger.

Mead-Mt. Spokane Sewer
Install sewer, manholes, and road reconstruction. Completed: 07/31/2020.

Day-Mt Spokane Rd: from US-2 (Newport Hy) to US-2 (Newport Hy)
Road Closed: Day Mount Spokane West of HWY 2 to Freya Road closed to through Traffic.

Mill Road- Hastings to Dartford
Road Reconstruction. Completed: 10/31/2020.

Mill Road is closed from Hastings to Dartford. Access to local properties will be maintained. Detour using Hastings, US395, Wandermere and Dartford.

Liberty Lake Eastside Water Improvements
Replace water line on Neyland. Completed: 09/30/2020.

Quanta Telecom - Shoulder Closure

Lane Restrictions (northbound, shoulder): SHOULDER CLOSURE - LANE SHIFT.

Gravel Road Stabilation
Spangle Creek Rd, grading and prepping for base stabilization. Start 06/15/20. Completed: 06/18/2020.

Spangle Creek Rd: from US-195 to Yale Rd
Slow-moving vehicle (both directions, all lanes): Spangle Creek Road, grading and prepping for base stabilization.

Gravel road stabilization
Prepping Gerlach Rd by grading, for base stabilization. Start: 06/15/20. Completed: 06/18/2020.

Gerlach Rd: from Freya St to Orchard Rd
Slow-moving vehicle (both directions, all lanes): Grading Gerlach Rd and Orchard Rd as prep for gravel stabilization.

Storm Drain/Culvert Cleanout
Crews will be using a Vactor Truck in the Valley-Ford area to cleanout culverts and drywells. Completed: 06/25/2020.

Please stay back and use caution when around Vactor crews watch for flaggers.
