Road Construction and Maintenance Update

June 19-26, 2020

SPOKANE COUNTY, June 19, 2020 - While Spokane County has construction and maintenance projects underway, please note that the annual 8 Lakes Leg Aches Bicycle 
Race is happening on Saturday, June 20th. Motorists should watch for cyclists, flaggers and expect delays along the route. The details are available under "Citizen Event by Permit".

CONSTRUCTION

Bigelow Gulch Phase 5
Road closed for excavation with local access only. Completed: 08/31/2020.
   Progress Rd: from Forker Rd to Forker Rd
   Road closed use alternate route.

Blanchard Creek Road Culvert Replacement
Replace existing culvert. Completed: 10/31/2020.
   This work provides for the improvement of the Blanchard Creek Road. Work includes    the removal of the existing culverts and the construction of a new structure over Blanchard Creek.
 
Geiger Boulevard-Hayford Road to Soda Road
Improvement of Geiger Road includes roadway excavation, curb, drywells, signing and signals. Completed: 06/30/2020.
   Hayford Rd: from 53rd Av to Geiger Bv
   Road is open while shoulder work is completed along with a new traffic signal at Geiger and Hayford.  Flaggers may be present.
   Geiger Bv: from Hayford Rd to Thomas Mallen Rd
   Road is closed east of Amazon. Thomas Mallen closed: Detour using Hayford, 53rd, Electric. Amazon access via Geiger from Hayford.

Mead-Mt. Spokane Sewer
Install sewer, manholes, reconstruct the roadway. Completed: 07/31/2020.
   Day-Mt Spokane Rd: from US-2 (Newport Hy) to US-2 (Newport Hy)
   Road is closed: Day Mount Spokane west of HWY 2 to Freya Road closed to through   traffic.

Mill Road-Hastings to Dartford
Road reconstruction underway. Completed: 10/31/2020.
   Mill Road is closed from Hastings to Dartford. Access to local properties will be    maintained. Detour using Hastings, US395, Wandermere and Dartford.
