Road Construction and Maintenance Update

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Bigelow Gulch Phase 5
Progress road is closed for excavation. Completed: 9/30/2020.
   Progress Rd: from Forker Rd to Forker Rd
   The road is closed and a detour is in place.
 
Espanola Road - Railroad Crossing Safety Improvements
Railroad Crossing Improvements include a small amount of widening and new guardrail. BNSF will also install new safety equipment for the railroad. Completed: 9/15/2020.
   Espanola Rd: from BNSF Crossing #40021 to Manila Rd
   Flaggers may be present in both directions with lane restrictions. Motorists should also down and use caution in the work zone.

Geiger Blvd – Soda to Grove Rd
Geiger Blvd. is closed from Soda to Electric – however local businesses remain open. Crews are removing the existing roadway. The project includes new drywells, asphalt, signing and pavement markings. Completed: 11/30/2020.
   Geiger Bv: from Soda Rd to Spokane City Limits (Electric Ave)
   Motorists should use an alternate route. Electric Avenue is open. Thomas Mallon is open. Please slow down and use extreme caution when travelling inside the work zone.

PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT

Build Strand and Overlash
Comcast is using Sefnco Communications (509-532-8308) to build strand and overlash P3-625 from pole #175885 at 5718 N Malvern Rd to pole #400885 at 5717 N Malvern Rd, build 2-inche riser on pole #400885 to service 5615 N Malvern Rd. Completed: 8/21/2020.
   Malvern Rd: from Joseph Av to Joseph Av 
   There are lane restrictions in the southbound lane and the shoulder is closed on the west side of Malvern Rd south of Joseph. Motorists should expect delays and watch for flaggers.
 
Install Overlash Fiber
Comcast is using Sefnco Communications (509-532-8308) to install an overlash fiber and route underground in the existing conduit. The project starts at the northwest corner of 57^th going south across 57^th and along the west side of Regal. Completed: 9/30/2020.
   57th Av: from Regal Rd to Regal Rd
   Motorists should slow down and watch for flaggers in both directions – especially at the intersection of 57^th and Regal and on Regal south of 57^th.

Liberty Lake Eastside Water Improvements
Halme Construction (509-725-4200) is replacing the water line on Neyland. Completed: 9/30/2020.
   Neyland Rd: from Lakeside Rd to Gage St
   Road closed for water line replacement.
 
Buried Comcast Service
Prince Telecom, Inc. (509-489-4769) is boring 120-feet beginning at the pole on the northeast corner of 5708 Custer St. property and then boring south and west. Completed: 9/5/2020.
   Custer St: from 57th Av to 57th Av
   Motorists should expect lane restrictions southbound and the shoulder will be closed on Custer near 57^th.

Install new Riser and Trench Conduit
Sefnco Communications (509-532-8308) is installing a new riser and trench conduit for Comcast. The work is being done 171-feet to the edge of the driveway and a new pedestal. Is approximately 4,130-feet east of Harvard Road on the north side of Morris Road. Completed: 8/31/2020.
   Morris Rd: from Garry Ln to Garry Ln
   There are lane restrictions in both directions. Motorists should expect delays, slow down, and please watch for flaggers and spotters.
 
Underground Cable Installation
Work is being done by Quanta Telecom (713-629-7600) on the west side of Freya from 55^th to 57^th Avenue. Completed 9/30/2020.
   Freya Street: from 55^th to 57^th Avenue
   There will be lane restrictions in both directions with flaggers on Freya. Motorists should slow down in the work zone.
 
Underground Cable Installation
Work is being done by Quanta Telecom (713-629-7600). An underground cable installation of approximately 107-feet. Work will go south on the west side of Harvard. Completed 8/28/2020.
   Harvard Rd: from UPRR Crossing #55031 to UPRR Crossing #55031
   There will be lane restrictions and the shoulder will be closed.

Euclid Rd Bridge is closed and a detour is in place. Replacing the bridge is the responsibility of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
