Road Construction and Maintenance Update

SPOKANE COUNTY, November 9, 2020 – With overnight temperatures dropping below freezing, there is an increased concern about black ice. Please slow down during the morning and evening commutes.
Geiger Blvd – Soda to Grove Rd
Geiger Blvd. is CLOSED from Soda to Electric – however local businesses remain open. Temp access for businesses is on Allied and Dowdy. The project will shut down for winter on November 19, 2020. Completed: 06/30/2021.
Geiger Bv: from Soda Rd to Spokane City Limits (Electric Ave)
Motorists should use an alternate route. Electric Avenue is open. Thomas Mallon is open. Please slow down and use extreme caution when travelling inside the work zone.
Pine Bluff Bridge #2609
Crew is stabilizing the Coulee Creek slopes below the bridge, installing short cast-in-place concrete walls that are anchored to the bedrock at the base of the slopes, placing shotcrete on the slopes with soil/rock anchors, and anchoring the habitat. Completed: 11/30/2020.
Pine Bluff Rd: from Seven Mile Rd to Carlson Rd
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes, slow down and watch for flaggers.
PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT
Installation of Gas Service
Installation of gas service on Bruce Road approximately 325-feet to the west of Regal. Work requires an asphalt cut. Completed: 11/09/2020.
Bruce Ave: from Regal St. to Smith St.
There will be a partial road closure during the installation on Bruce Rd. The work will be completed in one-day.
Water Main Installation
Beginning on November 2, 2020, crews will be installing a water main on Howe Rd to the east of McKinnon Rd. Completed: 11/09/2020.
Howe Rd: from Lowe Rd to Day-Mt Spokane Rd
Road Closed: 5 DAY CLOSURE WITH DETOURS

Euclid Rd Bridge Closure
Euclid Rd Bridge is closed and a detour is in place. Replacing the bridge is the responsibility of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
