SPOKANE COUNTY, August 5, 2022 – Crews are working a full schedule of construction and maintenance projects. Please slow down in work zones and watch for crews.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Bigelow Gulch Rd - Phase 6
Improvements to Bigelow Gulch Road include clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, borrow, embankment compaction, precast concrete drywells, culverts, pedestrian tunnel, structure excavation, illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2022.
Forker Rd: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Progress Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Progress Road Opened at Bigelow Gulch/ Forker Road. Open at Progress Road.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is CLOSED.
Progress Rd: from Wellesley Av to Spokane Valley City Limits
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Progress Road from the intersection of Progress and Bigelow to the intersection of Crown and Progress is closed with a detour route.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is CLOSED through August 12, 2022.
Sullivan Rd: from Upland Dr & Ct to Wellesley Av
Lanes CLOSED (both directions). The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is CLOSED through August 12, 2022.
Sullivan Rd: from Wellesley Av to north City Limits of Spokane Valley
Road CLOSED: Sullivan Road from the intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan Road to the City limits ROAD IS CLOSED.
Wellesley Av: from Progress Rd to Tolford Rd
Road CLOSED. The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is CLOSED through August 12, 2022.

Replace Existing Water Main
Replacing a six-inch city water main. Completed: September 3, 2022.

Asphalt Overlay
Apply asphalt over large areas of roadway for preservation. Completed: July 25 to August 8-11, 2022.
Grove Rd: from I-90 Overpass to Thorpe Rd
Road CLOSED: Detour on Fosseen Rd and 40th Ave. Flaggers will be present.
Euclid Av: from Stevenson Rd to River Rd
Expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Flaggers will be present.
West Newman Lake Dr: from Muzzy Rd to Foothills Rd
Expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Flaggers will be present.
Chip Seal/Seal Coat
Oil is applied to the road surface then a layer of road chips is added and rolled into oil, for new road surface. Dates: August 8-25, 2022.
Burroughs Rd: from Stevens County Line to Monroe Rd
Expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Flaggers and a pilot vehicle will assist motorists.

Application of a flexible sealant in cracks to prevent further break up on asphalt roads. Completed: August 10, 2022.

Hauser Lake Rd: from Muzzy Rd to East Newman Lake Rd

Crack Sealing/Street Sweeping/Weed Spraying
As the weather permits crews are sweeping streets to remove gravel and reduce the amount of airborne dust, spraying roadside weeds, and crack sealing. Please slow down in work zones and watch for crews.
