Crews Make Progress and Move Into Priority 2 Roads

Public Needs to be Aware of Weather/Road Conditions

  
SPOKANE COUNTY, December 21, 2022 – Crews worked long hours through the night and made progress plowing and sanding the county’s Priority One Routes (emergency routes and main arterials). As work continues today, they will begin to move into the Priority Two routes (secondary roads). Motorists are reminded that there is a layer of ice underneath the snow, making road surfaces extremely slick. Please drive for the road conditions and not the speed limit – and give yourself plenty of room to stop! In addition, remember to stay at least 50-feet behind our snow removal equipment and never attempt to pass on the right. 

The next storm system is expected Friday morning, bringing snow for most of the day. Temperatures will begin to moderate by Friday night – followed by HIGH freezing rain/ice concerns this weekend. Property owners are asked to clear snow, ice and debris from storm drains.
