Sewer Service Rate Increase

Begins March 1, 2023

SPOKANE COUNTY, January 31, 2023 – Effective March 1, 2023, Spokane County will implement new sewer rates. A rate increase is necessary to support the ongoing operation and reliability of the public sewer system as well as assist with increased costs of treatment due to additional regulations.

Rates help funs a wide range of items, including the ongoing cleaning and inspection of sewers, collection system upgrades, preventative maintenance and repairs, scheduled equipment replacements, energy and chemical costs, emergency response, and the daily operation of treatment plants.

Rates will increase by $1.00 for most customers, which is just over a 2% increase in a time of rising inflation. Additional rate information for a Single Family Residence, Duplexes, Multi-Family Dwellings, Business/Commercial and Manufactured Home Parks is available on our website at www.spokanecounty.org/publicworks.
