SPOKANE COUNTY, April 21, 2023 – Join Spokane County restoration and education staff at the Grand Opening (FREE) of the brand new Doris Morrison Learning Center (DMLC) on Saturday, April 22, 2023!

Located at the recently restored Saltese Flats Wetland Area, this learning center will provide a new option for outdoor environmental education as well as an interpretive center for the community at large. Once drained for farming, Spokane County has restored the Saltese Flats back to a healthy and productive wetland! As part of this restorative work, the Doris Morrison Learning Center was built near the wetland to provide a space to learn about this special habitat and its occupants.

The Grand Opening will have live raptor shows, activities for kids, guided bird walks, over a dozen free activity booths, and more! We will be celebrating from 10am-2pm. Visit www.spokanecounty.org/DMLC for more information.
