Traffic Restrictions and Possible Delays

June 28-July 12, 2019

  
SPOKANE COUNTY, June 28, 2019 – Construction and maintenance projects continue throughout the county.


CONSTRUCTION

Aero-Westbow
Building a roundabout. The south leg of the roundabout is closed and detours are in place. Expect delays due to lane restrictions. In addition, Aero Road south of the intersection is also closed to through traffic. Project will be completed by the end of August.

Bigelow Gulch 4
Bigelow Gulch Road from Argonne to Evergreen will be CLOSED July 8-22nd. Detours are in place. Crews are clearing and grubbing, house demolition, adding culverts, guardrail and pavement. Watch for flaggers.  

Lehman Rd: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Bigelow Gulch Rd
Road Closed: Road is closed for two weeks

Walnut St: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Bigelow Gulch Rd
Road Closed: Walnut is closed at Bigelow. Local traffic only.

Carnahan & Glenrose
Constructing a new roundabout, removing asphalt concrete pavement, and roadway excavation. Lane restrictions in place on Glenrose from Carnahan to 21st Avenue – and 21st Avenue is local access only.

Elk Chattaroy Bridge & Approach---***** BRIDGE CLOSED*****
Rehabilitation of the concrete deck by hydro-demolishing the existing slab, replacing the top with reinforcing steel. The asphalt approaches will also be raised to match the new deck elevation.

Geiger Blvd (Hayford to Soda Road) *****ROAD IS CLOSED***** Local Traffic only.
Improvements to Geiger Blvd. include roadway excavation, curbing, drywells, signing, and signals

Mead-Mt. Spokane sewer
The intersection of Moody, Ferrall and Freya is CLOSED for sewer work. Local access only.

PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT

Geiger Blvd. Right-of-Way Improvements
Geiger Blvd. from Hayford to Thomas Mallen is closed until August 1, 2019.

Whitworth Water Main Installation
Dartford from Mill Rd. to Austin Rd will be closed July 2-11th to install a water main.  

ADDITIONAL CLOSURES
 
Euclid Rd Bridge Closure
Euclid Rd from Bridge #1508 over BNSF tracks to Lyons Road is CLOSED until the railroad makes repairs. The bridge is the property of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Spokane County has closed access to the bridge as a matter of public safety.
 
Hazard Road Closure
Hazard Rd from Dartford Dr. to Rivilla Lane is CLOSED due to washouts It will remain closed until repaired later this summer.
 
Stoneman Road Closure
Stoneman Road is CLOSED between Parksmith and Bruce Roads through July 24th. Crews are ditching, shouldering, replacing culverts and chip-sealing the road.

MAINTENANCE
(Road maintenance projects are subject to change due to weather conditions and other road maintenance priorities)

Big Meadows Road
Crack Sealing Big Meadows Rd from Elk-Chattaroy Rd to Day Mt. Spokane Rd. Expect lane restrictions and delays until July 11th.

Dishman-Mica Rd
Crack Sealing Dishman-Mica Rd between Hwy. 27 to Spokane Valley City Limits. Expect lane restrictions and delays until July 3rd.

Forney Road
Forney Road from South End to Belmont Rd. to the end of gravel/start of pavement will be graveled with ditch-cleaning through July 10th. Watch for flaggers.

Fruitvale Road
Fruitvale Road from Melville Rd. to south end to Melville Rd will be graveled with ditch-cleaning through July 11th. Watch for flaggers.

Grading for Dust-oil
Graders working to fulfill dust-oil requests. These are slow moving vehicles and motorists should stay at least 50' back.

Pot Hole Repair
Pot hole repairs continue throughout the county.

Road Grading
Road Grading county-wide as weather permits.

Street Sweeping
Street sweeping of arterials is wrapping up and crews will be moving into residential areas next, be cautious of slow moving vehicles.
