2. Am I eligible for E-Deferral?

To be eligible for E-Deferral, you must meet the following criteria:

- You must have responded to your traffic ticket within 15 days of the violation date, either by mail or in person.

- You have not received a Deferral or Deferred Finding in the past 7 years from any court in the State of Washington, moving or non-moving, depending on the charge that you are requesting be Deferred.

- You do not possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

Please keep in mind that even if you have met the above listed criteria to apply for the Deferral Program your entry into the program is a discretionary decision that will be made by the Judicial Officer.

3. Are there conditions for an E-Deferral?

If you are granted entry to the Deferral Program, the conditions of your Deferral may be, but are not limited to, the following
- A non-refundable Administrative Fee of $150, imposed at the Judge's discretion, is due within a time decided by the Judge.:
- The Length of the Deferral may be imposed up to one year.
- Any new traffic violations may be cause for the revocation of the Deferral.
- Traffic School may be imposed at your expense, and you must provide proof of successful completion to the court.

4. How do I apply for a Deferral?

You have three options to apply or request entry into the Deferral Program:
- In Person at the District Court Clerk’s Office - you must respond within 15 days of the violation date.
- At your Court Hearing - You may make your request to apply for the Deferral Program at your Court Hearing.

2. Am I eligible for E-Mitigation?

To be eligible for E-Mitigation you must meet the following criteria:
- You must have already received a hearing date from Spokane County District Court.
- Your hearing date is at least 7 business days from today.
- Your violation does not require submission of documents (i.e. proof of insurance, proof of disabled placard/ID card, etc.).

The following violations cannot be reduced:
- Speeding in a school zone or playground
- Speeding in a construction zone
- Driving without proof of liability insurance
- No valid operator's license, 2nd degree
- Handicap parking violations

3. What is Mitigation?

Ticket Mitigation is when you admit to committing the violation(s) but would like to be considered for a reduction in fines. During this process you may comment on your side of the story. You understand that this ticket can appear on your driving record if "Traffic" is checked on the front. Parking tickets are civil infractions which do not appear on your driving record.

4. How do I set a hearing date?

A hearing date is obtained when you mark the hearing option on the back of your ticket, sign, and return the paper to the court, either via mail or in person.

5. How much will my ticket be reduced?

The following are example reductions if you qualify for a reduction under Mitigation Guidelines:

- $113 reduced to $95
- $124 reduced to $100
- $216 reduced to $175
- $224 reduced to $180
- $550 reduced to $440
